LA has a thing for votes. Every shop, restaurant, bar, flea market, sight in the city has been voted as the best in something. Best eggs on sandwich for breakfast, best butter knifes, best sight between 4 PM and 4:05 PM… It’s fascinating how many lists can be created and how many things can be voted for.

But as we all know, there is no source as reliable as this one,  so I decided I wanted to create my own quality label. One day you’ll find my stickers at carefully selected windows because I, Judith, gave my blessing about certain places.

In the meanwhile, I listed the best places in Los Angeles that got my blessing during my last trip to LA.

Voted best tacos: Ricky’s Fish taco’s

I am not into Mexican food, let that be clear. But when I went to Ricky’s Fish tacos, I believed I was in Mexican heaven. Ricky (imagining that is his name) has a food truck in his backyard and serves nothing more than.. fish tacos. Shrimp, fish and combined ones. Nothing more, nothing less. But boy, he sure knows how to make them. They come for $3 a piece and with 2 tacos you have a great lunch!

Voted best all you can eat: Ay-Do-No Korean BBQ

Apparently I HAD to try Korean BBQ since I never ate it before. We went to a restaurant, but weren’t really convinced of the Korean BBQ. A few days later we stumbled upon this place (because the restaurant we originally were going across the street, didn’t have a live Elvis impersonator anymore. BUMMER). The marinated meat was SO tasteful, the vegetables and sides too! For only $17 we got to eat so much meat, vegetables… LIKE.

Voted best sandwiches: Fat Sals

French fries, meat, salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, chicken all rolled into one sandwich? Yes, Fat Sals can! Does anybody need more after a Halloween hangover?

Voted best Ramen: Silverlake Ramen

I’ve read so many good things about Silverlake Ramen, we had to try it! We went on my last night in Los Angeles. And yes, even if that meant wasting 1 hour of precious time waiting in line. And the wait was so worth it!

Voted cheapest sushi: Roll Roll Roll Sushi

Cheap, fast sushi and actually quite tasteful too. Roll Roll Roll Sushi is the place to be: $3 for 8 pieces of Sushi & free miso soup.

I forgot to take a pic, so here is one of me in Roll Roll Roll!

Los Angeles, CA 90010

Voted best atmosphere & coffee: Paradox coffee

This place had 5 stars on Yelp. By 90 reviewers. How is that possible? I had to find out!
This coffee place is very small, but so cosy. There is a jazzy atmosphere, the owner is really friendly and knows how to make coffee. This place is like entering your own living room.

Voted best crazy shizzle: The Hubbard museum

You HAVE to visit this place in order to understand why this place is crazy fo shizzle! A bunch of lunatics will try to show you how good their ‘believe’ is.
